Split, extract or remove pages: which one do you need?

Splitting, extracting and removing all rearrange pages, but they produce different results, and picking the wrong one usually means redoing the job.
The short version
- Split PDF, breaks one document into several separate files, useful for chapter or invoice batches.
- Extract Pages, pulls a chosen range into a new PDF and leaves the original untouched.
- Remove Pages, keeps one document but deletes the pages you no longer want.
A quick rule of thumb
If you want more files at the end, split. If you want one smaller file, remove. If you want a copy of just a section, extract.

Can I extract more than one page range at once?
Yes, you can select multiple separate ranges (for example pages 1-3 and 7-9) and they'll come out as a single new PDF containing just those pages, in order.
Does removing pages renumber the rest of the document?
Only if the PDF uses automatic page numbering fields, static page numbers printed into the content stay as they were, which is why removing pages before adding page numbers avoids mismatches.
